The Boys Hawaiian Ohana

Lynn’s parents have been on the island for a little over a week now and are settling in nicely to their new Hawaiian life. Instead of shipping over a car like we did they opted to purchase a new car here on the island and drove this home today. They were sure happy to get rid of the rental and are feeling much more grounded now that they have their own wheels again. Things seem to be going well for them and they have settled in to our vacation rental downstairs and have made it really feel like home.

After Lynn and I finished work for the day and did our P90X workout we decided to head to the beach and swim. About the time we were headed out the in-laws got home and we invited them to join us which which they happily did!

La’aloa Beach was devoid of any sand today and was very rocky… which of course is why it is called Magic Sands Beach… The high surf we had the past few days washed the sand away but it could be back tomorrow… who knows? We decided to go just a few hundred yards further down Ali’i to Kahalu’u Beach which was lovely and they got to swim with Honu for the first time. I cut a chunk out of my right foot when I slipped on a rock which sucks but such is life and I shall mend!

We’re happy that Lynn’s parents have realized their dream of moving to the islands. We certainly know the feeling! And we are happy to have them here. They’ve got a lot done in their first week and are looking forward to slowing down some and enjoying island life. Aloha and welcome Kim and Janet!
