Boxers and Other Things Boys Want

Every so often I talk about a store we miss or wish we had here. For the most part we have about everything we need but some I particularly miss because I became used to having them over the years. One of these stores is American Eagle Outfitters. For whatever reason we don’t have an AE in Kona. There is one in Hilo but we are so rarely over there. In fact we tend to go Honolulu more often than we go to Hilo. But I digress.

We love AE and buy a lot of stuff there. We tend to love the style and fit of their polos and T’s and I really love their boxers. So when we were on Maui a few weeks ago we headed over to Queen K Center in Kahului, immediately found the AE and left a few hours and few hundred bucks later. And now I can go weeks now without running out of clean undies. :)

For anyone keeping track I am also eagerly awaiting the opening of Pier 1 in Kona at Kona Coast Shopping Center. I drive by almost daily to check out their progress. Rumor has it they are planning a June opening which from the looks of things seems just about right. Pier 1 makes me happy and I am thrilled to be getting one here. We’ll all join hands and do the happy dance when this opens.

Now I’d really really like to see a Whole Foods Market come to town! I think that could happen and Kona could totally support the business. I don’t have high hopes for a Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware but a boy can dream right? Also a Rip Curl, Pac Sun and Quicksilver downtown in the village would also be awesome. Oh, and I could always find what I was looking for at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I’d happily trade a K-Mart to Walmart for one of those.
